Laminated Wood ProductsAll of our manufacturing practices have been developed with the help of the University of Maine's AEWC (Advanced Engineered Wood and Composites) program. All manufacturing practices are modeled after AITC specifications and process. Should your project require proof testing and load certifications beyond our capability, U of ME will help in that research. Finger-joint and face bonding adhesives have passed ASTM testing for outdoor and wet use conditions. All adhesives and finishes used are low VOC and environmentally friendly.
Earn Green credits MR3- Material Reuse Your existing wood framing, finished material, & waste wood can be reused to create structural glulam beams, flooring, wall covering or custom architectural products. MR4- Recycled Content Using short scraps to create finger-joined material saves up to 40% of virgin material from being converted into waste during the manufacturing process. MR5- Regional Manufacturer Projects within 500 miles of Rome, Maine qualify. MR7- Certified Wood Maine Timber Works can source and convert certified wood products (FSC or COC lumber) if needed. EQ4- Low-Emitting Materials All multipurpose and structural adhesives conform to LEED requirements for low VOC content. Each adhesive used has been tested per ASTM2559 for performance in structural and non-structural applications. Maine Timber Works is committed to quality and craftsmanship. Beams can be provided ready for finish or fully sanded and finished per project specifications. Each beam will be individually wrapped for shipment.
